Services

Routine Evaluations and dental cleanings allow us to maintain your overall oral health and discover any problems before they become major issues.  Our goal is to help you to retain your natural teeth for as long as possible.  Even for patients who are edentulous (have no teeth), routine evaluations are just as important as a regular medical check-up.  The dentist looks at your whole mouth and performs an oral cancer screening during an evaluation.  The dentist can also evaluate and adjust the fit of any partials or dentures you may have.

On your first visit we will provide an in depth evaluation of your overall dental health, including any other medical issues you may have.  We will take x-rays and intraoral pictures to allow us to do this along with focused imaging of any problem areas.  The dentist will discuss the findings with you and a treatment plan to maintain and correct any problem areas.

The hygienist is able to provide routine cleanings, non-surgical periodontal therapy, fluoride treatments and sealants on children.  In office Whitening is also provided by the hygienist.

Restorative dentistry includes fillings, bonding, crowns (Caps), fixed partials (Bridges) and Implants.  These solutions restore the natural function of your teeth.

Dazzling Smiles offers crowns and bridges for patients who need to replace one tooth or several teeth.

Crowns are ideal for when a patient’s existing tooth is broken or has large cavities, but does not need to be removed.  It often requires 2 to 3 visits to complete the process.  On the first visit, the dentist will prepare the tooth after removing any decay.  Impressions of the prepared tooth are taken and sent to a laboratory to create the crown.  A temporary crown or cap, which is made of plastic, is placed on the tooth until the permanent crown is ready.  If the temporary falls out, patients should call the office as soon as possible.

A bridge is an option for patients who need to replace one or more missing teeth.  Tooth or teeth loss can affect not only the way you look, but also your speech and chewing efficiency.  Bridges are usually a false tooth or teeth suspended between two crowns.  Traditional bridges are the most commonly used and are made of porcelain fused to metal, which is an excellent combination of strength and aesthetics.

Similar to crowns, on your first visit the abutment teeth are prepared for the crowns.  A temporary bridge is made to protect the exposed teeth while the permanent bridge is being made.  On your second visit, the permanent bridge is checked, fitted, and adjusted.  Once the patient feels comfortable, it can be placed with permanent cement.

Dazzling Smiles practices Oral Conscious Sedation to ease the dental anxiety of our patients and allows them to get the dental care they need.  As dentists, we commonly see patients who are frightened and have severe anxiety about having any dental work done.  The entire staff at Dazzling Smiles understand your apprehension.  Oral conscious sedation is a safe and comfortable way to get your teeth taken care of without the stress.  Our dentists have been certified in Oral Conscious Sedation and we stay up to date with the current developments by continued education.

We will review your medical history during a sedation consult.  A medical clearance may be required from your medical doctor if you have any underlying medical conditions.

A Root Canal is treatment to save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected.  This type of treatment by dentists saves the natural tooth, rather than having the tooth extracted. After the therapy is completed, the Dentist will usually place a crown or other restorative material on the tooth to protect it and restore it to full function.

At Dazzling Smiles, Root Canal Therapy on all teeth is routinely performed.

Dazzling Smiles removes teeth through simple or surgical tooth extraction methods.  A dental extraction is a removal of a tooth from the mouth.  Tooth extraction procedures are far less painful than they used to be because of strong local anesthetics that can be used.  In most cases, patients who have tooth extractions experience little discomfort and minor bleeding.  Our dentists will use a topical spray to numb the area before an anesthetic is injected to reduce the discomfort.  After an extraction, sometimes an antibiotic and pain relievers are required, depending on the procedure, to make sure that infection does not occur.   Sutures may be placed requiring a follow up visit to remove them.

Sometimes a painful condition will occur called a dry socket.  This happens when the blood clot fails to form or falls out before the socket has healed on its own.  The socket will look whitish instead of red.  If you develop severe pain within a few days after the extraction, please call the office right away.  This condition is treatable, but will require the dentist to clean the area and apply a special paste to aid in healing.  Please follow the post operative instructions given.  This will lessen the chance of a dry socket occurring.

Dentures are a great option for people who are missing teeth.  Whether the teeth were lost due to disease, malnutrition, an accident, or a genetic disorder, dentures are a reason to smile again. Dazzling Smiles offers both full and partial dentures to our patients including same day dentures.

While not everyone is a candidate for dental implants they are a great long term alternative to removable dentures.  Dental implants are replacements for the roots of your teeth.  Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth.  Implants can replace one tooth, or your whole mouth.  Implants can be made to match your natural tooth color so as to maintain a natural appearance.  As an advantage over removable dentures, implants help to maintain existing bone structure in the jaw and prevent further bone loss.  Implants and dentures are great for improved appearance, improved speech, improved comfort, easier eating and improved self-esteem.  While these can provide a longer term solution, they do not replace regular visits to your dentist.  It is important to maintain a schedule of regular check-ups to prevent any major issues from arising with your implants or dentures.

We have installed a CBCT imaging device at our office to allow for 3 dimensional pictures to be taken of the jaw.  This aids in determining if a patient is a good candidate for an implant and where best to place the implant.  It is also used during implant placement to guide the dentist.

We offer in office tooth whitening using Zoom.  Custom trays are made to fit your mouth and then laser whitening is used in office to whiten your teeth in a fraction of the time.  At home kits are also provided to help you maintain your new smile.

Sensitivity is often a problem with whitening systems, but new products can help you get the whiter smile you desire without the sensitivity.

Please note that not everyone is a candidate for tooth whitening.  If you have existing restorations in your smile line, these will not respond to whitening treatments.  Please speak with the hygienist if you have questions about whitening and to see if you are a candidate.

While we are able to provide comprehensive services at our office, sometimes we need to refer our patients to see a specialist.  Such specialists include periodontists, endodontists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, and pediatric dentists.  If it is the best interests of a patient to provide such a referral, we will continue to care for your routine dental needs at our office.

Our on-site laboratory technicians have over 25 years experience.  In addition to denture fabrication, we can repair, reline and add teeth to your existing dentures on site.  This eliminates the need to send your work out of the office.  Many repairs can even be made the same day.
